New Zealand Cricket: The New Zealand squad for the Test series against Bangladesh has been announced. However, Ajaz Patel, who took 10 wickets for Team India in an innings, did not get a chance in this team.
Left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel made history by taking 10 wickets in an innings in the Mumbai Test against India. But, he is currently out of the Kiwi Test squad. The New Zealand Test squad for the home series against Bangladesh has been announced. The absence of Ajaz Patel’s name is noteworthy.
New Zealand coach Gary Stead also revealed the reason for Ajaz Patel’s departure. He said that Ajaz Patel had a historic bowling performance against India, but that the grounds here needed a lot of co-operation in the selection process, which was also the reason why Ajaz Patel was not included in the New Zealand squad on home soil. That means Ajaz Patel’s bowling conditions do not seem to be set for the Kiwis pitches.
New Zealand will play a two-Test series against Bangladesh at home from January 1. The Kiwis have been announced for the series, with the second match scheduled for January 9.
While almost all the players who played for India in the New Zealand squad got a place, only Ajaz Patel was left out of the squad. Devon Conway and Matt Henry return to the Kiwis. Injured Captain Kane Williamson was rested.
