Lovlina Borgohain: Boxer Lovlina, who won a bronze medal for India at the Tokyo Olympics, is embroiled in controversy. The castle boxer challenged that it was wrong to select Lowlina for the World Championship. The Senior World Championships will be held in Istanbul from December 4 to 19. The Boxing Federation of India selected Lovlina in the boxing 70 kg weight category. Arundhati Chaudhary, a resident of Kota, who is also the world champion in youth boxing in the 70 kg category, is also playing. With this, Lovlina objected to the choice. The Federation decision was publicly criticized.
Arundhati said that it was not right to select Lowlina for the championship without a trial. Arundhati said that she had always beaten Lowlina in practice. If the federation sees more potential in Lovlina, why are they afraid to prosecute Lovlina? It sought to give the opportunity to those who look best on a trial basis to represent India. Arundhati told the Boxing Federation of India that she would approach the court for justice if the decision to select Lowlina for the championship was not reversed without a trial.
Gold medalist Arundhati said she won a gold medal at the recent Senior National Championships in Hisar. She has won 6 gold and 1 silver medal in 7 consecutive international competitions. Arundhati also won the title of Best Boxer of Asia, Best Boxer of India. She alleged that giving Lovlina a chance to participate in the World Championships without any trial would hurt the morale of the players who have so far worked hard to fly the Indian tricolor flag in the world.
