Virat Kohli, who stepped down as T20 captain, has also been ruled out of the recent T20 series against New Zealand. As a result, Outai is ranked 11th out of the top-10 in the ICC T20 rankings released on Wednesday. Meanwhile, captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who were flooded with runs in the series against the Kiwis, further improved their positions. Rahul, who played his first two matches against New Zealand, scored a total of 80 runs. This puts him in fifth place in the ICC rankings with 729 points. Rahu is the only Indian cricketer in the top-5. Rohit Sharma, the top scorer in the series, moved up two places to 13th. In the batting category, Pakistan captain Babur Azam retained the top spot with 809 points. England cricketer David Malan was second with 805 points. Markram of South Africa finished third with 796 points. Kiwis opener Martin Guptill, who excelled in the series against India, made it into the top-10 several days later. He finished 10th with 658 points.
In terms of bowling, Sri Lankan spinner Vanindu Hasaranga topped the list with 797 points. South African bowler Tabriz Shansi was second with 784 points. Aussie spinner Adam Jampa was third with 725 points. None of the Team India bowlers have made it into the top-10 rankings.
