IPL-2022 retention is over. Eight franchises have submitted to the IPL governing body a list of players they will retain. Eight franchises announced their retention list on Tuesday night. SRH retains Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad, Umran Malik. This came as a surprise to cricket fans. Everyone thought Rashid Khan would be the top choice. The SRH, however, gave prominence to Williamson. However, as everyone expected, Sunrisers Hyderabad have dropped Aussie opener David Warner. Warner responded to this on the Instagram platform. The chapter is over .. 34 year old Warner posted saying thank you to all the fans.
Hyderabad bought Warner for $ 880,000 in the 2014 IPL auction. The following year he was appointed captain. He led the team to the final in the 2016 IPL. He defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the final to clinch the second trophy. Warner, along with AB de Villiers, is one of the most successful overseas players in IPL history. Warner is the only batsman to have won the Orange Cap three times so far. He scored 4014 runs for SRH in just 95 innings with an average of 49.56 and a strike rate of 142.59.
