Successive tragedies haunt the film industry. Noted film editor GG Krishna Rao passed away in Bengaluru early on Tuesday. Krishna Rao has worked with many prominent Tollywood directors including K. Vishwanath, Bapu, Jandhyala and Dasari Narayana Rao. Especially at that time, Krishna Rao was closely associated with production companies like Purnodaya Movie Creations and Vijaya Madhavi Productions in Tollywood.

Krishna Rao, who worked as an editor for more than two hundred films in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Kannada films, passed away.

He was a part of many classic Telugu movies like Shankarabharanam’, Sagarasangam’, ‘Swathimutyam’, ‘Shubhaleka’, ‘Bobbilipuli’, ‘Sardarpaparayudu’, ‘Sutradharulu’, ‘Seethamalakshmi’. Srutilayalu’, ‘Muddhamandaram’, ‘Narugu Sambhalata’, ‘Sirivennela’, ‘Shubhasankalpam’, ‘Swarabhishekam’, ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ and many more. His passion for movies also led him to work in other departments such as associate director, production designer.

In 1981, Krishna Rao received the Nandi Award as the best editor for ‘Saptapadi’ directed by K. Vishwanath. From this movie, they started giving Nandi in the editor department. Later, editor Krishna Rao won Panni Nandi awards for the films ‘Sagarasangam’ and ‘Shubhasankalpam’. These two films are also directed by Kalathapasvi K Viswanath.

Along with super hit Hindi movies like ‘Milan’, ‘Eshwar’, ‘Sur Sangam’, ‘Jwar Bhata’ 1973, ‘Mastana’ 1970.
