Australian star cricketer David Warner has been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award in November. He lost his place in the Sunrisers team in the IPL tournament in the UAE a few months ago and excelled in the T20 World Cup-2021 in November on the same soil. Warner played a total of 7 matches in this tournament and scored 289 runs with a strike rate of 146.70. It also includes two half-centuries. Chosen as the ‘Player of the Series’ in the tournament, he was instrumental in helping the Aussies win the World Cup for the first time. The ICC said Warner was the recipient of the prestigious award. New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee and Pakistan opener Abid Ali also competed for the award. However, in the end, it was the Aussie cricketer who won the award. This is Warner’s first time receiving the award.

As for women cricketers, West Indies all-rounder Hayley Mathews has been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award for the month of November. Matthews impressed with his all-round performance in the ODIs last month. In the bilateral series against Pakistan, she played brilliantly in the subsequent World Cup qualifiers, scoring 141 runs in 4 matches and taking 9 wickets. It was this performance that earned her the award. Pakistan left-arm spinner Anam Amin and Bangladesh’s Naheeda Akhtar competed for the same award. This is the second time Matthews has been nominated for the award. Nominated for the award for the first time in July this year, she lost the award in error.
