Icc T20i Rankings Babar Azam, Hasarnaga, Virat Kohli
ICC T20I Rankings: The Pakistan team is heading for a series of victories in the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. This made them the first team to reach the semi-finals from the Super 12. Apart from this, the Pakistan team players also made their mark in the ICC T20 rankings released by the ICC today. Pakistan captain Babur Azam has scored two half-centuries in a row to overtake England’s David Malan to top the ICC men’s T20I player batting chart. Babur, who scored 51 against Afghanistan and 70 against Namibia to take the 2009 champions to the semifinals, topped the standings for the sixth time in his career. The 27-year-old reached first place on January 28, 2018. He is currently ranked No. 1 in ODIs as well.
Baber scored 834 rating points, 36 points ahead of David Malan. However, Baber remained career-best 896 rating points after scoring 65 in a match against England in Cardiff on 5 May 2019. Malan has been at the top since November 29 last year. There are only two batsmen in the top ten from Team India. Virat Kohli was 5th with 714 points and KL Rahul was 8th with 678 points.
England’s performances in the tournament were also reflected in the rankings. English openers Jose Butler and Jason Roy have both moved up in the latest rankings. Butler hit his maiden T20I century against Sri Lanka and finished ninth in his career. Roy moved up five places to 14th.
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan leg-spinner Vanindu Hasaranga topped the bowling charts for the first time in his career after taking two or three wickets in a row against South Africa and England. He has been replaced by Tabriz Shamsi of South Africa, who has been at the top since April 10 this year. In bowling, however, there is not a single bowler from Team India.
The top four bowlers in the rankings are all wrist spinners. England’s Adil Rashid has surpassed Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan to finish third with a career-best 730 rating points. South Africa’s Anrich Nortze is the fastest bowler to move up 18 places to seventh.
Mohammad Nabi topped the list of all-rounders along with Shakib Al Hasan with 271 rating points. Hasaranga is fourth on the list. Not a single player from India has made it to the list of all-rounders.
