Chapman was born in Hong Kong. His mother lived there. Chapman’s father is a New Zealand citizen. Chapman studied engineering in Auckland. Chapman made his international debut for Hong Kong. Chapman scored a century in his first match against the United States. Chapman played in the Under-19 World Cup for Hong Kong when he was just 15 years old. Following this, Chapman began playing domestic cricket in New Zealand. He then got a chance to play for the national team. There are rumors that Chapman could replace Williamson in the Jaipur T20.
