Team India prepares for a three-match Test series against South Africa. The Indian team took part in a practice session on Saturday ahead of the Test starting on December 26 at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Head coach Rahul Dravid was seen giving some tips to Test captain Virat Kohli while Ravichandran Ashwin, KL Rahul, Jaspreet Bumra and others were practicing.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video on Twitter. India do not have a good record in the Test format in South Africa. India, who have toured South Africa seven times in the past, have lost the series six times. This time the situation was very different. India has won in Australia and England. India have a line-up capable of facing any team under any circumstances. It remains to be seen whether Proteus, who won the 1-0 Test series against New Zealand in the current World Test Championship, will excel on the tour.
Rohit Sharma, who was selected as the vice-captain for the series, missed three Tests due to injury. In Rohit’s absence, KL Rahul was selected as Virat Kohli’s deputy. He did not play in the Tests against New Zealand at home. The first Test against South Africa starts on December 26 and the second Test starts on January 3 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The third Test starts on January 11 in Newlands, Cape Town.
