India failed miserably in the second innings. Failed to score huge. None of the batsmen in the midfielder did well and the low score rolled the mat. On the third day, the game started with an overnight score of 85/2. Chateshwara Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane played at the crease. India were bowled out for 100 for the third wicket. Two half-centuries were scored in this order. Pujara scored 53 off 86 balls with 10 fours and Rahane scored 58 off 78 balls with 8 fours and 1 six. However, none of the other batsmen were able to sustain this start.

India were all out for 202 in the first innings while South Africa were all out for 229.
