Teamindia suffered another setback. Keeper, batsman Ishan Kishan has been admitted to hospital. He was injured when he was hit by a bouncer during a match against Sri Lanka at Dharamsala. The incident took place in the fourth over of the Indian innings. The second ball of the fourth over was bowled by Sri Lankan fast bowler Lahiru Kumara at a speed of 146 kmph. It bounced. Ishaan tried to play the ball but the ball hit the helmet. Ishaan sat on the field for a while after the ball hit him.
The physio immediately came to the field and examined Ishaan. Kishan then batted again. Ishan was eventually bowled out by Lahiru Kumara. Ishaan Kishan played as service trouble as he did. He made just 16 off 15 balls. Ishan Kishan was admitted to Fortis Hospital after the match. A CT scan was also taken. Full details are yet to be known.
India won the match by 7 wickets over Sri Lanka. The Lancashires batted first and scored 183 runs. India lost three wickets and chased down the target. Shreyas Iyer was unbeaten on 74 (44 off 44 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja on 45 (18 off 18 balls). Sanju Samson scored 39 runs. This is India’s 11th consecutive victory in the T20 Internationals. India is poised to equal the world record with just another victory. Afghanistan won 12 T20 matches in a row. India won the seventh consecutive series in this format on home soil.
