The Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on the Windies batting first. The West Indies were all out for just 176. Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal did the most damage to the West Indies. Later in the 41st over, Prasidh Krishna dismissed the holder and struck another blow to the Windies. The Windies collapsed to 176 in just 43.5 overs when Chahal Alzari dismissed Joseph at the end.
