The IPL 2022 auction has got off to a solid start. While most of the players have been sold so far in the auction taking place in Bangalore, some have even filed huge bids. The auction started with the auction of Marquee players involving 10 players. Seven of them got huge promotions. A lot of teams have shown interest in these players. Indian star player, Shreyas Iyer, former captain of Delhi Capitals, has been named the most expensive man in the Marquee Player’s. Along with him the players also got a huge amount.
Among the pre-auctioned marquee players are those that are internationally popular. Most teams wanted to buy them. This time, 10 players were selected, including India’s Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammad Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Faf du Plessis of South Africa, Quinton de Kock, Gisso Rabada, David Warner of Australia, Pat Cummins and Trent Boult of New Zealand.

Shreyas Iyer – Rs. 12.25 crores (KKR) ..
Former Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer is expected to make a big bid. He was bought by the Delhi team for Rs 7 crore last year and now KKR has added him for Rs 12.25 crore. This was to the great advantage of Iyer. Also there is a chance of being selected as the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders.
Kagiso Rabada – Rs. 9.25 crores (PBKS).
Kagiso Rabada was acquired by Delhi Capitals for Rs. Bought for Rs 4.2 crore. He has been doing well over the last few seasons. However, he is currently being bought by the Punjab Kings for almost double the price. Rs. 9.25 crore.
Shikhar Dhawan – Rs. 8.25 crores (PBKS) ..
Shikhar Dhawan of Delhi Capitals also benefited greatly from the auction. This time it was bought for Rs 5.2 crore.
Trent Boult – Rs. 8 crores (RR) ..
Trent Boult has been playing for Mumbai Indians for the last few seasons. Previously MI was Rs. 3.2 crores. However, this time the Rajasthan Royals team brought in Rs 3.2 crore due to heavy competition.
Faf du Plessis – Rs 7 crore (RCB).
In the Chennai Super Kings, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s loyal Faf du Plessis has been sold for Rs 7 crore this time. He is currently playing for RCB. This player was acquired by Chennai Super Kings last year for just Rs. 1.6 crore, but this year RCB got a huge price.
Quinton de Cock – Rs. 6.75 crores (LSG).

Mohammad Shami is one of the most experienced bowlers in the Punjab Kings. The team beat him to Rs. Bought for Rs 4.8 crore. However, the Gujarat Titans won the current auction for Rs 6.25 crore.
