Some franchises have struggled to keep up with just four players for IPL-2022. Some franchises felt they had to keep more players than they were allowed to. But the regulations did not favor it and only kept four. The rest are now preparing for the mega auction. Some franchises want to hire their old players. This would have added even more fuel to Burnout’s already significant marketing momentum. Among the players the franchises are looking to take back are Faf du Plessis, Devdat Padikkal and Shubhman Gill.

Faf du Plessis: He is an international star and one of the most consistent batsmen for the Chennai franchise. Based on his experience, CSK will definitely look to get him back. Faff was instrumental in the CSK IPL 2021 title victory. He scored 633 runs with a strike rate of 138.20. He was just two runs behind Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad. Du Plessis was the final player with his stunning 86 off 59 balls.

Devdat Padikkal: The young stylish RCB opener has excelled in the last two seasons. Because of his young age, the RCB definitely wants to train him for the future. He scored 411 runs in 14 matches in IPL 2021. It also included his first century in the T20 league. In his first IPL season in 2020, he won the ‘Emerging Player’ award for scoring 473 runs in 15 matches with the help of five half-centuries.

Shubhman Gill: Like Padikkal, Shubhman Gill is a young man who works in his favor. With the mega-auction coming up, KKR hopes to take him back. Gill scored 478 runs in 17 games in the 2021 season. That includes three half-centuries.
