IPL 2022: The first day of the IPL 2022 mega auction was in full swing. A total of 10 franchises have spent money on Indian and foreign players. Ishant Kishan became the most expensive player with Rs 15.25 crore. The teams have also shown interest in young Indian players like Deepak Chahar, Shreyas Iyer and Avesh Khan. Avesh Khan became the most expensive uncapped player with 10 crores. However this was only the action that happened the first day. This mega auction will last for two days. The auction will continue on Sunday (February 13). The situation on the first day was as follows. About 600 players registered for the auction and 10 teams participated instead of 8 for bidding. On the first day, capsid and uncaped players from each category were auctioned. On the first day, 97 players were auctioned and a total of 10 teams bought a total of 74 players, leaving 23 players. They will also participate in the second day auction.
When does the auction start?
The auction will start at 12 noon on Sunday as it did on Saturday. Chief auctioneer (auction officer) Hugh Admids opened the auction on Saturday but presenter Charu Sharma took over as health deteriorated in the middle. Hugh is fine now The auction will take place on Sunday.
Teams must give the names of 20 players
First all the franchises have to submit their list of 20 players of their choice before 9am before the IPL. These players will be exclusively included in the auction. Their auction takes place in the usual manner. That means teams will have some more time to think and bid. Players between 162 and 600 are then quickly auctioned off. Foreign players include Marnus Labuschagne, Rossi van der Dusen, Tabrez Shamsi, James Neesham, Tim Southee, Paul Stirling, Martin Guptill and Odeon Smith. Along with them are young players like Indian Under-19 World Cup winning team captain Yash Dhul and Raj Angad Bawa.
