Indian left-arm fast bowler Jayadev Unadkat made his Test debut at just 19 years old. He played his first Test match for India in South Africa. But he missed the second Test match after that. After this, he played seven ODIs and 10 T20I matches for India. He played his last match in 2018 for India. Although he has consistently excelled in domestic cricket ever since, he has not been able to make a comeback in Team India. Under his captaincy, Unadkat also won the Saurashtra Ranji Trophy.
He took 67 wickets in the last Ranji season. He did not make the Test squad even after that. Ashwin backed him at the time. Unadkat recalled this. Unadkat played superbly in the last Ranji season. The Ranji Trophy has not taken place for the last two years due to Kovid. Jayadev said he was not thinking of returning to Team India at the moment and that his vision was to play in the Ranji Trophy and excel there. The BCCI has decided to hold the Ranji Trophy in two stages. Many cricketers are happy with this. Unadkat said, “The last time I played for India in the Nidhas Trophy was in 2018. My last tour with India A was in 2016. I’m not thinking about the Indian team, I’m looking forward to playing with the red ball. Please let it happen. ”
