Popular Tamil comedian R. Mail Swamy (57) passed away on Sunday morning.

A series of tragedies haunts South Industry. Recently, even before the deaths of legendary director K. Vishwanad and singer Vanijayaram were forgotten, the death of Telugu film actor Tarakaratna plunged the film industry into mourning. Tarakaratna lost his battle with death for 23 days at Hridalaya Hospital in Bangalore. Before he could recover from the news of his death, another tragedy happened. Popular Tamil comedian R. Mail Swamy (57) passed away on Sunday morning. He was suffering from illness for some time and his family members shifted him to Porur Ramachandra Hospital. The doctors revealed that his condition worsened and he breathed his last this morning.

Mail Swamy has acted in many films in Tamil. He shared the screen with famous heroes. Mail Swamy has gained good recognition in Tamil as a stand-up comedian, TV host and also as a theater artist. In 1984, Dhavani made her debut with the movie Kanavugal. He acted in more than 200 films in a career spanning four decades. Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundara Rajan along with film celebrities expressed their grief over his death.
