Batting on a 177-run victory, Australia lost 5 for 96 in 12.2 overs. However, Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade joined the Aussies to victory with one over to spare. Wade was unbeaten on 41 off 17 balls while Stoinis was unbeaten on 40 off 31 balls. In the 19th over, Wade smashed three sixes in a row off Shaheen Afridi’s bowling to water Pakistan’s title hopes.
