Virat Kohli Dhoni
Virat Kohli: Virat Kohli, who last captained Team India in the T20I during the World Cup in the UAE, has been ruled out of the Super 12 tournament. Losing the first two matches of the tournament made the chances of advancing in the tournament even tougher. However, the match was lost only after losing the toss. India lost to Pakistan by 10 wickets and New Zealand by 8 wickets. Despite winning the last three matches (against Afghanistan, Scotland and Namibia), the 2021 edition exited the T20 World Cup.
Before the final match against Namibia, Team India bowling coach Bharat Arun said that tosses played a key role in the results throughout the tournament. Kohli, however, said that losing the toss could not be used as an excuse.
“They are not the ones arguing about the toss. Whether you win the toss or not, you have to perform well, ”said the Indian captain. “We weren’t brave enough in the first two games. We were very upset with that. After losing these two matches, it became difficult for our team to go to the next stage, ”said Kohli.
