India return home on Tuesday to win their fifth Under-19 World Cup trophy in the West Indies. The team members reached Bangalore on Tuesday morning. They received a solid welcome. Earlier they had stopped in Amsterdam, Dubai. The players will leave for Ahmedabad on Tuesday for the BCCI honors ceremony on Wednesday. Yash Dhul’s India beat England by 4 wickets to win the trophy for the 5th time in the final on Sunday at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
India chased down the 190-run target in the final with two balls to spare. In Indian batting, Nishant Sindhu remained unbeaten on 50 and was instrumental in the victory. Vice-captain Sheikh Rashid scored 50 runs. Raj Bawa played a fantastic innings with 35 runs. Among the England bowlers, James Sales, Boyden and Aspinwall took two wickets each. Earlier, England were bowled out for 189 in 44.5 overs by Team India pacers Raj Bawa (5/31) and Ravi Kumar (4/34). Batter James (95 off 116 balls; 12 fours) defended England with an excellent performance.
