India wins Under-19 Asia Cup final at Dubai International Stadium Team India beat Sri Lanka by 9 wickets in the title match. Batting first, Sri Lanka were all out for 106. The match lasted for 38-38 overs due to rain and Team India chased down the target of 102 runs in 22 overs. Angakrish Raghuvanshi, Sheikh Rashid excelled. India have won the Under-19 Asia Cup for the third time in a row and have won the tournament a total of eight times. Five players played a key role in India’s victory this time.
Right-handed batsman Sheikh Rashid was instrumental in helping India emerge champions. The 17-year-old batsman top-scored with 133 in the tournament. Rashid averaged 66.50. He was unbeaten in two of four innings. Sheikh Rashid hit just 6 fours and a six in this tournament.
Opener Harnoor Singh excelled in the Under-19 Asia Cup. Harnoor scored 131 runs in 4 matches and became the second highest run scorer in the tournament. Although Harnoor averaged 32.75, he gave a good start to Team India.
Angrish Raghuvanshi scored an unbeaten half-century in the final match for Team India. He scored 56 and was instrumental in defeating Sri Lanka. Raghuvanshi scored a total of 107 runs at an average of 35.66. In bowling, right arm fast bowler Raj Angad Bawa took 8 wickets in 4 matches for India. Bawa also took four wickets in a match.
Left-arm spinner Vicky Ostwal was instrumental in India’s victory. Austwell took 6 wickets in 4 matches. Ostwal took 3 wickets in the final.
