Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal: The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal is in turmoil. Electricity officials shocked HCA (Hyderabad Cricket Association) with outstanding electricity bills. The stadium was plunged into darkness due to non-payment of current bills of over Rs 3 crore. ADE Balakrishna on Tuesday said that the power supply at Uppal Stadium had been cut off. Electricity department officials said that HCA officials had shown negligence in paying the electricity bills as well as using electricity as usual.
They said a case had been registered against HCA in the past. The HCA court stepped in on the matter. However, the HCA suffered a major setback when the verdict came in favor of the power sector. Officials said the power supply was cut off as notices had already been issued on electricity arrears but to no avail.
