Former Indian batsman VVS Laxman took over as head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Monday. He shared his first day experiences on social media. Laxman posted pictures of the office on Twitter saying, “First day at NCA! Is awesome. A new challenge awaits. It is a great opportunity to work for the future of Indian cricket. ” Last month, former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly confirmed that former India batsman VVS Laxman would take over as NCA chief.
Former India captain Ganguly said former cricketers need to be involved in developing the game. As BCCI president, he worked hard to get Rahul Dravid accepted as the head coach of the Indian team. Not only the BCCI chief, but also Secretary Jay Shah and other senior officials urged Laxman to take up the role of NCA. Because BCCI has been watching the NCA head closely for the past few years.
Rahul Dravid as India’s head coach and VVS Laxman as NCA head working together to take Indian cricket forward is a good development, AnibCCI sources said.
First day in office at the NCA! An exciting new challenge in store, look forward to the future and to working with the future of Indian cricket. pic.twitter.com/gPe7nTyGN0
