Cricket (to make cricket more interesting) ODI cricket was launched on January 5, 1971. The first ODI between Australia and England was played in Melbourne, 39 years later in 2010 when cricket god Sachin Tendulkar set an unexpected record. Tendulkar scored his first double century in ODI cricket on 24 February 2010 in a 200-run innings off 147 balls against South Africa, during which time he hit 25 fours and three sixes.
India scored 401 runs.
Sachin scored 200 and India scored 401 for three in 50 overs. Along with Sachin, Dinesh Karthik scored 79, Yusuf Pathan 36 and skipper MS Dhoni 68 off 35 balls.

South Africa were bowled out for 248 in the allotted overs, chasing the 402-run target set by India. However, de Villiers scored an unbeaten 114 for his team. At the same time, S Sreesanth took the highest number of three wickets for India.
