Generally, as per the Surrogacy Regulation Act 2021, a couple is allowed to resort to surrogacy only after they have been married for more than five years. But there were reports that Nayan and Vignesh resorted to the surrogacy procedure. It is in this context that the Tamil Nadu government has ordered an investigation. This investigation was completed on Tuesday. The inquiry committee will submit its report to the government on Wednesday. In this order, Nayanthara couple sent an affidavit to the committee.

In this affidavit, the couple stated that they got married four years ago. The Nayan couple said that they applied for surrogacy in December last year, so technically six years have passed since their marriage. He said in an affidavit to the committee that the method of surrogacy was followed as per the rules. In this regard, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Subrahmanyan said.. ‘The report will come from the committee on Wednesday. All things will be known after going through the report. We identified the hospital where Nayanthara couple underwent surrogacy. The government will take a decision after the report’, he said.
